TCSS Community,
After five years serving as Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System, Dr. Keri Johnson is stepping down to pursue another opportunity.
Upon learning of Dr. Johnson’s upcoming departure, Tuscaloosa County Board of Education President Bill Squires expressed his gratitude to Dr. Johnson for her service to the Tuscaloosa County School System.
Mr. Squires also said that information will be shared with the TCSS community as soon as possible, regarding a search for the next Superintendent of the Tuscaloosa County School System.
In a message to TCSS faculty and staff, Dr. Johnson wrote: “I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together. Please know that Tuscaloosa County will always hold a special place in my heart. The success of our system is because of you—our teachers, support staff, administrators, and every person who gives their best each day for students.”
Dr. Johnson plans to formally submit her resignation to the Board of Education at its September 2 meeting. On August 27, Dr. Johnson was selected as the new Superintendent of Pelham City Schools.
